We&#8217;re unveiling new Post and Blog features that allows you to create your own news entries in your My Music Staff account.<\/p>\n<h2>Posts<\/h2>\n<p>The new &#8220;Posts&#8221; feature allows you to create news that can be sent to the <strong>Student Portal<\/strong>, the <strong>Teacher Portal<\/strong> (in multi-teacher studios) or your new website\u00a0<strong>Blog<\/strong>. When you log into your My Music Staff account, you&#8217;ll see a new Posts menu item (located just below &#8220;Website&#8221;) that allows you to create and edit your posts.<\/p>\n<p>When you post news to the Student Portal, your students will see a new &#8220;Studio News&#8221; page when they log in. If you have a multi-teacher studio and you post news in the Teacher Portal, your teachers will see the news directly below their daily agenda.<\/p>\n<h2>Blog<\/h2>\n<p>You can now add a Blog placeholder page to your My Music Staff website where\u00a0your posts can be published. To get started using this feature, add a new page to your website and set the page type to &#8220;<strong>Blog<\/strong>&#8220;. Once your blog page is created, you&#8217;ll use the same &#8220;Posts&#8221; page to put your articles in it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9217 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mymusicstaff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/mms-post-infographic.png\" alt=\"mms-post-infographic\" width=\"484\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mymusicstaff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/mms-post-infographic.png 484w, https:\/\/www.mymusicstaff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/mms-post-infographic-300x196.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 484px) 100vw, 484px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Adding a blog to your site makes it easy to\u00a0add content that doesn&#8217;t necessarily need it&#8217;s own individual page. We&#8217;ve added &#8220;<strong>Recaptcha<\/strong>&#8221; to all the My Music Staff hosted contact forms and signup pages (including if you&#8217;re using the Sign-Up Widget). This should significantly reduce the number of &#8220;junk&#8221; submissions made through your site.<\/li>\n<li>If you have &#8220;<strong>Show Advanced SEO Options<\/strong>&#8221; turned on for your My Music Staff site, there&#8217;s a new page setting that allows you to prevent search engines from indexing it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Report Center<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We&#8217;ve added a new &#8220;<strong>Payroll<\/strong>&#8221; report that displays the payroll accounts for selected teachers (this feature is for multi-teacher studios).<\/li>\n<li>The &#8220;<strong>Teacher Summary<\/strong>&#8221; report to has been renamed to &#8220;<strong>Billable Hours<\/strong>&#8220;, and the &#8220;<strong>Attendance Summary<\/strong>&#8221; report is now called &#8220;<strong>Lessons Taught<\/strong>&#8220;. We feel that these names better reflect the content of the reports.<\/li>\n<li>We have improved the chart at the bottom of the &#8220;<strong>Lessons Taught<\/strong>&#8221; report so that it displays the aggregate of all teachers included on the report.<\/li>\n<li>We&#8217;ve added a &#8220;<strong>Late<\/strong>&#8221; column to the Lessons Taught report to break out the number of &#8220;<strong>Present<\/strong>&#8221; students who were late (the &#8220;Present&#8221; column still\u00a0includes both students who were on time and those that were late. The &#8220;Late&#8221; column just breaks out those that were late.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We have added a\u00a0&#8220;<strong>Column Chooser<\/strong>&#8221; to the student attendance tab, so now you can hide the &#8220;<strong>Lesson Notes<\/strong>&#8221; (or other columns) if you don&#8217;t wish to see them.<\/li>\n<li>The way the &#8220;Staff Room News&#8221;\u00a0appears in the Teacher Portal has been redesigned.<\/li>\n<li>A new &#8220;<strong>Studio News<\/strong>&#8221; section had been added to the <strong>Student Portal<\/strong> that displays any posts that you&#8217;ve published to the Student Portal. The Studio News page automatically appears once you publish the first news entry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We hope you enjoy these improvements.
