Download<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Share videos &amp; audio that can be streamed directly in the Student Portal, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/support.mymusicstaff.com\/en\/articles\/726-how-do-i-speed-up-or-slow-down-audio-video-playback\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">slowed down\/sped up<\/a><\/strong>, or played on a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/support.mymusicstaff.com\/en\/articles\/713-how-do-i-loop-audio-video-playback\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">custom loop<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Repertoire<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add pieces of repertoire and include details like composer, genre, and difficulty<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Write general notes for each piece of repertoire, plus <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/support.mymusicstaff.com\/en\/articles\/1099-how-do-i-add-private-repertoire-notes-for-a-student\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">student-specific notes<\/a><\/strong> when assigning it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/support.mymusicstaff.com\/en\/articles\/1106-how-can-i-add-youtube-videos-to-my-repertoire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Embed a video<\/a><\/strong> for students to watch a performance or play along with a track<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Track progress with labels like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/support.mymusicstaff.com\/en\/articles\/1105-how-do-i-change-the-status-of-the-repertoire-assigned-to-a-student-ex-completed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">In-Progress, Completed, Requested,<\/a><\/strong> and more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-fb7c8f85 gb-headline-text\"><strong>Here\u2019s an example of what your lesson flow could look like in My Music Staff:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Open My Music Staff in your web browser, or from your <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/support.mymusicstaff.com\/en\/articles\/966-how-do-i-add-my-music-staff-to-my-iphone-ipad-or-android-home-screen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">phone or tablet\u2019s home screen<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review your Home Agenda for the day to see your upcoming students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get your student settled in and mark them Present<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open Lesson Details to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/support.mymusicstaff.com\/en\/articles\/1366-can-my-lesson-notes-copy-forward-to-the-next-lesson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">copy in your previous notes<\/a><\/strong> and make some edits as you go<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Switch to the Private Notes tab to jot a few points down for yourself<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload a file (like a theory worksheet) as a linked resource for the student<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check off completed repertoire and assign a new piece (<a href=\"https:\/\/support.mymusicstaff.com\/en\/articles\/1095-how-do-i-assign-existing-repertoire-to-a-student\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>from your existing list<\/strong><\/a> or add a new piece right on that page)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As your student is wrapping up their lesson, check off the option to email a copy of the notes to parents and click Save!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-23ae69fc gb-headline-text\"><strong><strong style=\"color: #2da8e0;\">Everything you include here is also available for students and parents through the Student Portal.<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First thing\u2019s first \u2013 if you haven\u2019t already <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/support.mymusicstaff.com\/en\/articles\/811-how-do-i-set-up-the-student-portal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">invited families to use the Student Portal<\/a><\/strong>, you can do that in bulk in just a few clicks! Parent logins of multiple students will be able to see the info for all students in their family. Student logins (for students with their own email address) will only be able to see what\u2019s assigned to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once they\u2019ve set up their username and password, they can even add the Student Portal to their phone to use it like an app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right from the home page, students can see their recently logged practice hours, lesson notes you\u2019ve written for them, and any assigned repertoire. They can also see their upcoming lessons so they don\u2019t forget!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Practice Log lets students manually track practice time or use the built-in practice timer to track as they go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-44033fe6 gb-headline-text\"><strong>Here\u2019s an example of what your students\u2019 practice flow could look like in My Music Staff:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Open the Student Portal from their phone or tablet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review the lesson notes on the home page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Download the assigned theory worksheet from Online Resources and complete it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to the Practice Log to start the timer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open up the Repertoire they\u2019re working on to review the notes and play the attached video<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stop the timer, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/support.mymusicstaff.com\/en\/articles\/1090-how-do-my-students-upload-to-the-student-portal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">upload the theory worksheet<\/a><\/strong>, and save the Practice Log entry<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Be sure to check out our <a href=\"https:\/\/resources.mymusicstaff.com\/downloads\/category\/student-portal-cheat-sheets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FREE downloadable Student Portal Cheat Sheets<\/a> to share with families!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<blockquote><div class=\"alert alert-info\"><strong>My Music Staff includes all this and more, designed to streamline lessons for music teachers and students.
