{"id":17145,"date":"2015-08-24T16:38:30","date_gmt":"2015-08-24T20:38:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mymusicstaff.com\/?p=17145"},"modified":"2015-08-24T16:38:30","modified_gmt":"2015-08-24T20:38:30","slug":"payroll-improvements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mymusicstaff.com\/ja\/payroll-improvements\/","title":{"rendered":"Payroll Improvements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17165\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mymusicstaff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/mms-blog-august-24.png\" alt=\"Teacher Payroll - My Music Staff\" width=\"484\" height=\"253\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mymusicstaff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/mms-blog-august-24.png 484w, https:\/\/www.mymusicstaff.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/mms-blog-august-24-300x157.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 484px) 100vw, 484px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hi Everyone,<\/p>\n<p>This week we&#8217;re rolling out a number of changes to My Music Staff based on your feedback.<\/p>\n<h4>Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s new and improved this week:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>We&#8217;ve added the ability to <strong>customize the SMS Reminders<\/strong> from the &#8220;<strong>Studio Settings<\/strong>&#8221; page on the &#8220;<strong>Messaging<\/strong>&#8221; tab. You&#8217;ll see a new section labelled &#8220;<strong>System SMS Templates<\/strong>&#8220;. Editing this is just like editing an email template (though HTML formatting is not available because they are not applicable to SMS messages).<\/li>\n<li>When My Music Staff is unable to deliver an SMS Reminder to a student or parent, it will now appear in your <strong>Notification<\/strong> page like an undelivered email.<\/li>\n<li>We&#8217;ve updated the way &#8220;<strong>Full<\/strong>&#8221; events are shown\/hidden on the Student Portal Calendar to eliminate some confusion. This small change will hide some events that were previously automatically visible in the Student Portal, but students couldn&#8217;t actually join.<\/li>\n<li>In the auto-invoice email summary, we fixed the &#8220;<strong>Balances<\/strong>&#8221; so that they&#8217;re calculated correctly if you have &#8220;<strong>Include Previous Balance<\/strong>&#8221; turned OFF in your invoice settings. (The invoices themselves were always correct, but the email summary sent to the teacher could have shown the wrong amounts.)<\/li>\n<li>If you\u00a0change your auto-invoice settings, My Music Staff will now resend you the email summary based on your new settings for the families that have been updated.<\/li>\n<li>We&#8217;ve added a new &#8220;<strong>Week<\/strong>&#8221; version of the <strong>printed calendar<\/strong>. This is available from the &#8220;<strong>Calendar<\/strong>&#8221; page under the &#8220;<strong>Print<\/strong>&#8221; drop down button. This is great if you need to post a printed room or teacher schedule on a door.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Payroll Changes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We&#8217;ve added the ability to <strong>override teacher payroll settings<\/strong> by Event Category. Here&#8217;s the new options:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Basic Increase<\/strong> &#8211; Adds a fixed amount to a teacher&#8217;s payroll entry for this event. This is useful if you add a flat travel fee for in-home lessons (e.g. $5)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Per Student<\/strong> &#8211; This allows you to calculate teacher&#8217;s pay based on the number of attendees (e.g. $5\/student for group lessons)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Per Hour<\/strong> &#8211; This overrides the teacher&#8217;s\u00a0payroll settings with a new hourly rate (e.g. $30\/hr).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Percentage of Revenue<\/strong> &#8211; This overrides the teacher&#8217;s settings with a percentage of the studio revenue from that event (e.g. 75% of studio revenue).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This feature is available to multi-teacher studios only and can be configured by editing your Event Categories (<strong>Calendar &gt; Event Setup<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We&#8217;ve added some <strong>new tools<\/strong> to the Teachers and Administrators page:\n<ul>\n<li>You can now <strong>bulk add payroll entries<\/strong> based on the current payroll balance. This allows you to add a payroll entry to each selected teacher without going into their individual profiles. You can select all teachers with the check-boxes and click &#8220;<strong>Add Payroll Entry<\/strong>&#8220;. My Music Staff will automatically add entries for paying everyone based on their visible Payroll balance.<\/li>\n<li>If you make changes to the Payroll by Event Category (as described above), you can make those changes retroactive in bulk by using the &#8220;<strong>Tools &gt; Apply Payroll Settings<\/strong>&#8221; button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>On the Payroll tab of the Teacher Details page, there&#8217;s a new column labelled &#8220;<strong>Source<\/strong>&#8221; that indicates where a payroll entry came from. This will indicate if a payroll entry was calculated using the teacher&#8217;s default payroll settings, the Event Category payroll settings or a manual entry.<\/li>\n<li>We&#8217;ve added a Visible Columns\u00a0button to the Payroll tab on the Teacher Details page so you can selectively show\/hide columns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We hope you enjoy this weeks updates.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 The My Music Staff Team<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Did you know? <\/strong>You can now setup auto invoicing.
