A few weeks ago we added automatic email reminders to My Music Staff. Since then we’ve had a few member emails asking if it was possible to only send email reminders for specific types of events. For example, you may not wish to send email reminders for weekly lessons, but you may wish to send them for events like recitals that only happen once or twice per term.
The answer is yes, this is possible and it’s easy to configure. If you haven’t already enabled email reminders for your account you can turn it on in your Profile Settings page (click your name at the top right hand corner of the screen).
By default all event types receive email reminders. To change this, click the “Calendar” link from the main menu, then choose the “Edit Categories” button at the top of the page. You should see a list of all your event categories. Click the blue “Edit” button beside the category names and you will see the option to disable email reminders. Save the category and you’re done!
Similarly if you don’t want to send email reminders to specific students (and/or parents), this can be disabled in the Student Details page.
