New Options for Teachers

As part of our ongoing effort to make My Music Staff the best software for music teachers, we’ve introduced a few changes this week. Here’s what’s new:

  • We’ve improved the “Help” pop-up for desktops/laptop users (and other large screen devices). The pop-up window is now wider and better suits the long form content. We’ve also improved the help documentation in the Profile Settings page.
  • The event time interval can now be changed in your Profile Settings page. This allows you to schedule events with precision greater than every 15 minutes (15 minutes remains the default setting).
  • The calendar display now shows the full student name, not just the first name.
  • We’ve changed the “Fees” column header in the Families & Accounts page to “Charges” so that it’s consistent with the invoices.
  • You can now prevent parents and students from Joining/Cancelling lessons through the student portal. This option is located with the cancellation policy on the “Policies” tab in Profile Settings.
  • You can now display family account balances based on the end of the month (rather than the current day). This change does not affect invoices, only the way the balance is displayed when you’re logged into My Music Staff. You can change this setting on the “Accounts & Invoices” tab in your Profile Settings.

    I’ve noticed that since the latest update I’ve had trouble accessing the ‘save’ button on the pop-up window using Safari on an ipad.
    I am using OS 7.1 on the ipad.
    The window comes up and I enter information, but when I try to scroll up and down either within the pop-up or on the whole screen, ‘echos’ of the page behind appear on the pop-up, and I can’t scroll down to ‘save’ the information (lesson notes, attendance, etc.)
    I’ve been copying and pasting the notes, then refreshing the whole page, opening up the student, checking attendance, then repasting the notes, and I can hit save and it will work.
    It’s only if I leave the ipad to go to dark (within 10 minutes) or go back to notes after a few minutes, that I can’t scroll to find the ‘save’ button.
