Hello Everyone,
This week we’re happy to introduce another new feature to My Music Staff that has been highly requested. We’ve added a new daily agenda email, so now My Music Staff can send you a copy of your schedule each day even before you even visit the site.
The new daily agenda email feature is disabled by default in My Music Staff but can be turned on by clicking on “My Preferences > Calendar” and selecting a delivery time from the “Email Agenda” drop down menu.
Here’s what else is new and improved this week:
- We’ve updated the Student Import feature so that email addresses are cleaned up before they’re loaded into the student profile.
- In the Student Portal, the event location (if available) is now prominently displayed on the event registration popup. Hopefully this will help prevent students from signing up for lessons at the wrong physical location.
- Family Account Balances can now be set to a specific day of the month (i.e. the 15th). Before the only options were “Current Day” and “End of Month”. Both these options still exist, but if you’d prefer to see the balances as of a specific date all the time, now you can!
- We fixed an obscure issue with the login widget that would take some students to the My Music Staff homepage before it would let them log in. This is now resolved.

As always, love the updates & I LOVE that you’re actively seeking to make things better & better — even though they’re already great! I’m impressed with your service!!! I want to pass along a suggestion that several of my student parents have requested. Is there an app for that? I think that would be well received!!! I don’t know what would be involved in creating such a thing, but I’ve heard numerous requests, so I thought I’d pass it along.

Thanks so much for the message. My Music Staff is a mobile friendly website so it work great on any device. Your parents and student can access their My Music Staff account using their tablets, smart phone and desktop computers.

I am having trouble using the Start GPS trip in the mileage feature. When I try to use this on my iPhone 5 (most recent software update installed) it tells me that locations services must be turned on. I have checked my settings and location services are on and are working for every other app that uses location but I cannot get this to work on mymusicstaff. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks so much for the message. You can enable the “Daily Agenda” email by visiting the “My Preferences” section of your My Music Staff account and clicking on the “Calendar” tab. Look for the “Email Agenda” label and select a time you would like to start receiving the email.
